Want to volunteer and not sure where to start? You've come to the right place! There is a great volunteer opportunity for you to share your time & talent and wit & wisdom. Please review the information and links below to learn more about the various opportunities, policies, and contact information. Our Committee Chairs are also happy to answer any questions you may have.
ST. MARK VOLUNTEER HANDBOOK:
All volunteers must be familiar with the St. Mark Volunteer Handbook (see Documents section at left) and must also sign and return the Volunteer Pledge Form (located on the last page of the handbook) to the school office before the first day of volunteering.
SAFE ENVIRONMENT TRAINING:
All volunteers must be trained and cleared through the Safe Environment program. Please click for full requirements and details.

Classroom Opportunities
Parents can volunteer in the preschool through second grade classrooms by reading to the class, pulling papers for teachers, and prepping crafts. If you would like to volunteer, please click on the following links to sign-up:

Early Childhood Education - Front Desk Opportunities
Volunteers are needed to answer the door and the phone, as well as to assist with occasional craft prep. Volunteers may bring a book/work, and the desk computer is available if needed. Help is needed every day. Hours are:
*Monday-Thursday, 8:30 AM – 2:00 PM
*Friday, 9:30 AM – 2:00 PM
Any amount of time is helpful, so when you sign-up using the link below, please include the hours you are available in your comment. Multiple volunteers may sign up each day to help fill all the needed time.
Fundraiser, Event, and Committee Opportunities

Fundraisers:
Book Fair Committee: Collaborates/communicates with school & book fair vendor; coordinates, sets up, hosts, & cleans up multi-day event selling books & related items; proceeds benefit school library
Used Uniform Sale Committee: Procures & organizes gently used uniforms; recruits volunteers; coordinates, sets up, hosts, & cleans up used uniform sales; maintain used uniform closet; proceeds benefit St. Mark HSA
Box Tops Committee: Collects, counts, and submits the Box Tops; Coordinates and promotes schoolwide Box Top drives throughout the school year; implement recognition rewards; proceeds benefit St. Mark HSA
Merchant Rewards Chair(s): Publicize, demonstrate, and assist with program signups (especially at Back to School Events); monitor the "progress to goal" monetary success of the programs (Kroger, Tom Thumb, Amazon, Amazon Smile, and future additions); proceeds benefit St. Mark HSA
Scrips Gift Card Chairs: Market, order, sort, & distribute Scrip gift cards; proceeds benefit St. Mark HSA
Events:
Talent Show Coordinator: Schedules date, time, and location for the show and tryouts; coordinates publicity, talent acts, decorations, setup, cleanup, etc.
Movie Night Coordinator: Schedules date, time, and location; coordinates movie choice(s), publicity, equipment, food options, setup, cleanup, etc.
Chili Cookoff Coordinator: Schedules date, time, and location for the show and tryouts; coordinates publicity, entries, judges, prizes, setup, cleanup, etc.
First Communion Reception Chair (1st Grade Parent): Recruits and schedules 1st Grade Parent; works with school and church representatives to host reception for students receiving the sacrament
Graduation Reception Chair (7th Grade Parent): Organizes reception for graduation; holds meeting(s) for 8th grade parents; recruits and schedules volunteers for setup, cleanup, etc.
Field Day Committee: Works directly with PE coaches to plan Field Day activities; orders student Field Day t-shirts; plans and orders lunch for students and volunteers
Committees:
Hospitality Committee: Organizes and provides hospitality at all HSA events where food & drinks are provided
Community Prayer Team Facilitator: Organizes monthly meetings & prayers for school, community, & special intentions; facilitates faith-filled events for school community including but not limited to prayer walk & rosary circle
Helping Hands Coordinator: Recruits assistance (meals or other) to families in need in our school community
Junior Achievement Program Coordinator: Recruits, coordinates, & monitors parent volunteers to teach jr achievement classes in grades K-5th; organizes volunteer preparation training
Parent Photographers: Attend school events to photograph/memorialize; share photographs with yearbook committee & Director of Marketing & Communications
School Directory Chair: Edits data for the School Directory; sends final electronic file to the directory publisher; arranges for distribution of the directories to school families
Safe Environment Monitor: Monitors & communicates with HSA volunteers regarding school/diocese-mandated volunteer requirements, including safe environment training status
Volunteer Appreciation Coordinator(s): Coordinates volunteer of the month awards and helps recognize & honor HSA Volunteers throughout school year
Teacher Luncheon Coordinator: Assists the Room Parents in coordinating the scheduled Teacher Luncheons hosted by parents of each grade level
Auction Liasion: Assists and advises the Room Parents in coordinating gifts to the Auction (class crafts and gift baskets) from the class/grade level parents; coordinates donations from grade levels directly with Auction committee
Newcomer Welcome Coordinator: Recruits host families in each class to welcome new families; matches new families to host families during the summer
Library Volunteer Scheduler: Schedules volunteers for helping in the library (K-5th grades)
Classroom Volunteer Scheduler: Schedules volunteers for pulling paper (PK-2nd), reading to the classroom (PK-2nd) and Friday Morning Mass Helpers (PK-K); assists ECE Teachers to recruit volunteers to set up and run special events (i.e. Thanksgiving Activities, Texas Day, Dr. Seuss Cat in the Hat reading)
Room Parents (PK3 - Middle School): Organize and plan the Halloween and Christmas parties; coordinate the creation of basket & craft gifts for Auction
Social Media Relations: Publicizes and promotes all HSA sponsored events on social media
