Want to volunteer and not sure where to start? You've come to the right place! There is a great volunteer opportunity for you to share your time & talent and wit & wisdom. ST. MARK VOLUNTEER HANDBOOK
All volunteers must be familiar with the St. Mark Volunteer Handbook (see Documents section at left) and must also sign and return the Volunteer Pledge Form (located on the last page of the handbook) to the school office before the first day of volunteering.
SAFE ENVIRONMENT TRAINING
All volunteers must be trained and cleared through the Safe Environment program.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
There are many ways to share your talents with the St. Mark community. Please review the opportunities outlined below and choose one or more that fit your talents and schedule.
* PAWS: Parents Assisting with Students
Opportunities include:
Classroom Opportunities: Parents can volunteer in preschool through second grade classrooms by reading to the class, pulling papers for teachers, and prepping crafts.
Early Childhood Education - Front Desk Opportunities: Volunteers are needed to answer the door and the phone, as well as to assist with occasional craft prep. Volunteers may bring a book/work, and the desk computer is available if needed. Help is needed every day.
ECE Special Events: Assist with set up, clean up and working special events (i.e. Thanksgiving activities, Texas Day, Dr. Seuss Cat in the Hat reading)
Library Help: Volunteers in the library for Kindergarten-5th grade

Mass Helpers: Assistance on Friday mornings for PK-Kindergarten during Mass

* Book Fair Committee
Collaborates/communicates with school & book fair vendor. Coordinates, sets up, hosts, & cleans up multi-day event selling books & related items. All proceeds benefit the school library.
*Used Uniform Sale Committee
Procures & organizes gently used uniforms from families, recruits volunteers, coordinates events, sets up, hosts & cleans up after used uniform sales. Ensures the used uniform closet is well maintained. All proceeds benefit St. Mark HSA.
* Merchant Rewards Chair(s) – Publicize on social media and assist with program sign ups at back to school events. Monitor the "progress to goal" monetary success of the programs (Kroger, Tom Thumb, Amazon, Amazon Smile, and future additions) with the HSA Treasurer. All proceeds benefit St. Mark HSA directly.
* Chili Cook-Off Coordinator
Schedules date, time, and location. Coordinates publicity, entries, judges, prizes, setup, cleanup, etc. All proceeds benefit St. Mark HSA directly.
* Family Fun Events Coordinator
Schedules date, time, and location. Coordinates activity, publicity, equipment, food options, setup, cleanup, etc.
* Field Day Committee
Works directly with PE coaches to plan Field Day activities and scheduling volunteers.
* Graduation Reception Chair (7th Grade Parent)
Organizes reception for 8th grade graduation. Hosts meeting(s) for 8th grade parents, recruits and schedules volunteers for setup, cleanup, etc.
* Spirit Night Coordinator
Schedules date, time, and locations. All proceeds benefit St. Mark HSA directly.
* Talent Show Coordinator
Schedules date, time, and location for the show and tryouts. Coordinates publicity, talent acts, decorations, setup, cleanup, etc.
* Auction Liaison
Assists and advises the Room Parents in coordinating gifts to the Auction from the class/grade level parents. Coordinates donations from grade levels directly with Auction committee
* Community Prayer Team Facilitator
Organizes monthly meetings & prayers for school, community, & special intentions. Facilitates faith-filled events for school community including but not limited to Prayer Walk & Rosary Circle
* Helping Hands Coordinator
Recruits assistance (meals or other) to families in need in our school community
* Hospitality Committee – Organizes and provides hospitality at all HSA events where food & drinks are provided. Assists school with Open Houses (food & drinks when requested)
* Host Families
In an effort to welcome new families to the community, we pair each new family with an existing St. Mark family. This gives newcomers the opportunity to meet others prior to the first day of school, and provides a personal contact to help with questions and general information throughout the school year. * Junior Achievement Program Coordinator
Recruits, coordinates, & monitors parent volunteers to teach Junior Achievement classes in grades K-5. Organizes volunteer preparation training and reporting
* Newcomer Welcome Coordinator
Recruits host families in each class to welcome new families and matches new families to host families during the summer
* Parent Photographer
Attends school events to photograph/memorialize and share photographs with yearbook committee & Director of Marketing & Communications
* Room Parent Leads (PK3 - Middle School)
Coordinates with all grade level Room Parents, organizes and plans the Halloween and Christmas parties and coordinates the creation of grade level baskets for the “12 Gifts of Christmas” & grade level gifts for Auction. Will maintain budget for grade.
* Room Parents (PK3 - Middle School)
Organizes and plans the Halloween and Christmas parties and coordinates the creation of grade level gifts for Auction
* Social Media Relations
Publicizes and promotes all HSA sponsored events on social media
* Teacher Luncheon Coordinator
Assists the Room Parents in coordinating the scheduled Teacher Luncheons hosted by parents of each grade level.
* Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students)
Provides assistance around the school, in classrooms, and recess for either a half or full school day. Click here if you are interested.
