Host Families

In an effort to welcome new families to the community, we pair each new family with an existing St. Mark family. This gives newcomers the opportunity to meet others prior to the first day of school, and provides a personal contact to help with questions and general information throughout the school year. Most Host Families are assigned in June however, we maintain a list of volunteers to match with families who join the community throughout the year.

TIPS FOR REACHING OUT TO YOUR NEW FAMILY:
*Send them a welcome email and introduce yourself.
*Set up a time to talk over the phone or in-person.
*Schedule a play date or ice cream get-together so the children can meet.
*Check-in on them periodically, send follow-up reminders about things happening at school, remind them how Spirit Days or Dress Down Days work, etc.
*Encourage them to join HSA and other school events to meet other families.
