Music Instruction

Weekly Music Instruction
Preschool students attend a daily "Music and Movement" class taught by full-time Preschool Music Teacher, Mrs. Hana Schell. Emphasis is placed on singing, dancing, acting, gross motor skills, physical activity, and instrument familiarity.

Students in Transitional Kindergarten through 5th grade receive weekly music instruction from full-time Music Teacher, Mrs. Patty Corsi. Emphasis is placed on learning proper intonation of pitch, singing alone and with others, many genres of compositions, playing and listening with unpitched and pitched instruments, improvisation, composing, history of music, dancing, and musical games.

3rd-5th grade students learn to play the recorder and participate in an annual concert.

Middle school students are encouraged to choose from electives involving plays and musicals.

Band Program
Participation in the St. Mark Band is open to students in 4th - 8th grades. Students choose an instrument, learn to read music, and participate in a variety of performances and activities. The program is administered and taught by Music Learning Band.
