I have been at St. Mark since: 2014
Personal: I have been a parishioner at St. Mark since 1981. Although I did not attend school at St. Mark, I have strong family ties with the school. I grew up watching my greatest role model, my mother, evolve in the leadership and development of this community as the school Principal. Both of my children are St. Mark alumni. I am very excited to now be a member of the faculty and contribute my talents in a place that feels like home.
Philosophy of Education: My role as a teacher is to meet my students where they are individually, and facilitate their development in academic growth, as well as social and spiritual growth. I work to provide a positive attitude and a positive environment with structure, consistency, and freedom to learn from mistakes. The goal is always that my enthusiasm and high expectations are contagious so that I model and instill a passion for love, life, and learning.
Mission Statement: As an educator in a faith community, it is my mission to practice Jesus' example...the ideal image of love. I believe that in order to grow, it is important to learn resilience and tenacity when facing challenges. Lifelong learners continually adapt and adjust and find success when they keep trying, both inside and outside of the classroom. I want to foster this with questioning, curiosity, gratitude and generosity so that my students have the tools to make a difference in this world.
