Education: B.S. Psychology, Cameron University; M.A. Psychology, University of Mary Hardin-Baylor
Certifications and specializations: Licensed Professional Counselor
I have been at St. Mark since: 2003
Personal: I have been married over 30 years and have 3 adult children. In my free time I play competitive women’s roller derby and enjoy traveling.
Statement of philosophy about education: I believe that all children have unique strengths and weaknesses. The best educators use a student's inherent and identified strengths to address any known weaknesses to facilitate successful learning. When this occurs, students emerge confident, competent and self-sufficient in addressing the next steps of higher education.
Mission Statement: My mission is to assist in identifying student strengths as well as any weaknesses so that every student is able to perform at the peak of their ability. As a guidance counselor my goal is to support the teachers in accommodating the different learning styles of students within the framework of a traditional classroom.
