Education: Bachelor of Science, Human Development and Family Studies, Texas Tech University
Certifications: Texas State Board for Educator Certification Generalist EC-4 and Texas Catholic Education Department Certified Religion Teacher
Personal: I grew up just down the road in the Canyon Creek neighborhood in Richardson. I attended St. Mark from 6th-8th grade, Bishop Lynch for 9th grade and graduated from Plano Senior High School. I went on to study at Texas Tech University. There I met my husband of 16 years. We have two children, Luke and Kate. Luke plays competitive soccer, and Kate was in competitive cheer at Cheer Athletics, but has decided she wants to try tennis and chess. When I have free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, shopping, and/or watching the Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, or Dallas Stars with my husband. During the weekend, you will find me on the sideline cheering on Luke and Kate. You will probably hear me before you see me! I absolutely love watching them compete in the sports they love.
Philosophy of Education: My teaching philosophy is to build a partnership with parents in their child’s educational journey. As an educator, one of my goals is to meet each student where they are and encourage them to take pride in their progress and accomplishments. I enjoy challenging students when I see fit. I also enjoy finding creative ways to reach all types of learners when a concept is more challenging. I believe children should be children and should feel safe to make mistakes, educationally and socially.
