I have been at St. Mark since: 2019
Personal: I previously taught in Garland ISD and have taught 2nd and 3rd grade, and most recently, 4th grade math and science. After high school I enlisted in the United States Navy where I spent 6 years as a hospital corpsman working in the operating room as a surgical technologist. I attended boot camp in Great Lake, Illinois and then did further training in North Carolina. I was then stationed in Beaufort, SC and Keflavik, Iceland. I am married to David and have three children, who all attend St. Mark. When I’m not serving as a "mom taxi" to my kids I enjoy camping, reading, puzzles, traveling, and spending time with family.
Philosophy of Education: I believe they every student can learn and be successful and it is my job to find the proper strategies so that each student is able to reach their full potential. I believe that an education is not solely about academics. As a teacher I must also educate my students mentally by teaching them the skills needed to solve problems, socially by teaching them the skills needed to communicate and work productively with others, emotionally by helping my students see and understand that they have been perfectly made, and spiritually by helping students develop mature moral values by modeling the Gospel values.
