Why I would like to serve on the School Advisory Council: We have been active parishioners at St. Mark the Evangelist since moving to Allen in 2007. After touring several Catholic schools in the area, we unreservedly chose St. Mark for our children’s elementary education. The friendliness of the staff and the atmosphere of joy, palpable throughout the campus, won us over instantly. It reminded me of my own parochial school experience which was precisely what we were seeking for our children. We are still VERY proud to call ourselves St. Mark Lions. However, the last four years have highlighted some areas where the level of excellence identified with a St. Mark’s education could be enhanced in an effort to reach an even greater level of performance. Chief among my interests are optimizing learning on an individual level and opening the lines of communication among all invested in the education process. We send our children to St. Mark not only for the excellent education but for the invaluable opportunity to immerse them in their amazing Catholic faith on a daily basis. As spiritual leaders, educators, and parents, we must strive to ensure that our students not only reach their full academic potential but also aspire to follow the path that God has planned for them.
Attributes that I offer to the School Advisory Council: My bond to St. Mark began when I received the sacrament of Baptism here in 1975. Although I grew up in East Texas, my life’s journey brought me back to this wonderful Catholic community. As a stay-at-home mother of four, I will be investing much of my time, talent, and treasure in St. Mark Catholic School for many years to come. I have a friendly and optimistic personality and a strong and ever growing love of my Catholic faith. My well-developed work ethic and professional experiences have afforded me with a unique perspective that I believe will serve the council well. I appreciate your consideration and God bless you!
