Education: I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas at Dallas, majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies with my focus in Elementary Education. I hold a Texas State Board for Educator Certification in Generalist Early Childhood - 4th Grade
I have been at St. Mark since: 2023
Personal:I was born and raised in North Dallas and have lived most of my life in Plano and Allen. I graduated from Ursuline Academy of Dallas and attended Loyola University New Orleans for three years before finishing up my degree at the University of Texas at Dallas. I married my high school sweetheart, Ryan, who graduated from St. Mark and then from Jesuit. Ryan's two younger siblings are also STMCS alumni and we have three wonderful children as well as two precious nieces who are all current Lions. Dallas Diocesan schools run deep in our family and although I never attended St. Mark, it always was and still is such a special and important place to me and my whole family. I am just so thrilled to finally be an official part of it now!
Philosophy of Education: I believe that all students can learn and succeed when they feel seen, heard, and loved. I believe that the very first step in effectively teaching young children to reach their full potentials and ultimately become lifelong learners is to create a classroom environment in which students feel safe, nurtured, and valued as individuals. As an educator, it is my top priority to build a strong, genuine connection with every one of my students by having great interest in and care for each of them. The mutual trust and respect that naturally follows is essential in motivating students to build confidence and strive to achieve their best.
Mission: It is my mission as a teacher to unlock every one of my students' individual potentials, learning styles, and motivators and challenge them to soar. My students will believe in and have high expectations of themselves because they will know without a doubt that I believe in and have high expectations of them. Most importantly, God will be at the very center of my classroom every day and in everything I do in it.
