What is it and why do we have this program?
The Safe Environment Program has been adopted by the Diocese of Dallas and St. Mark the Evangelist Parish to provide a safe and secure environment for all members of our faith community.
Who needs training?
All school volunteers MUST be Safe Environment trained and cleared to participate in any school volunteer activities including room parent, library duty, class trips, prefect (lunch/recess) duty, Field Day, classroom volunteer, and DPL team coach.
How do I get trained?
New Volunteers:
1. Click on the following link and complete the online screening form:
https://dallas.setanet.org/screening.php
A background check and a reference check will then be completed.
2. Attend one “Recognizing, Responding, & Reporting” training class. A current schedule of classes offered at St. Mark can be found in the Sunday bulletin. Additional classes are offered throughout the Diocese. Click here for a current schedule of classes.
3. Review the Social Media Policy and Training Manual (available in Spanish upon request). Complete, sign and return the signature page to the school office.
4. Complete a Personal Interview. Contact Alison Hughes at alison.hughes@stmcs.net.
Volunteer Retraining:
Anyone who has already attended a “Recognizing, Responding, & Reporting” training class, submitted a screening form, and completed an interview MUST complete retraining annually before they will be cleared to volunteer.
This retraining must be completed annually according to the school calendar.
Retraining can be completed online:
