Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA) provides parents of students in non-public Texas schools a publicly-funded, government authorized savings account with restricted, but multiple, uses for their children’s education.
Student enrolled in an eligible school: up to $10,000
A student with a diagnosed disability: up to $30,000
Home-schooled participants: $2,000
Parent Application Checklist: The Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA) program will be accepting applications from February 4 through March 17, 2026. All Texas children are eligible to apply if they live in Texas and are a United States citizen or were lawfully admitted into the U.S. To prepare for the TEFA application, parents should gather the following documents listed HERE.
